Questions
The useful things to know before you sign up.
Is there anything I need to do besides pay?
Not on the technical side.
We register your domain, connect it to the site, set up HTTPS and hosting, and keep everything running.
Once your site is ready, we email you a sign-in link. From there, you add your CV and publish changes directly to your own website.
How long until my site is live?
Usually, a few minutes.
Before registering the domain, we check that it is still available and that the price has not changed since you paid.
If it is no longer available or the price has increased, we do not register anything and you receive a full refund.
Can I keep my site private?
Yes.
You can protect your CV with a 6-digit PIN and share it only with the people you choose.
A private CV will not appear in search engines while PIN protection is enabled.
Do I own the domain?
The domain is registered in our company’s name while it is part of your subscription.
If you want to move it to another provider, you can. Contact us, pay the one-off 49.00 EUR transfer fee, and we will unlock the domain and provide the transfer code.
How do I sign in?
Directly from your own website.
If your address is yourname.com, you sign in at yourname.com/login.
There is no password to remember. Enter your email address, open the one-time link we send you, and confirm the sign-in.
Can I change the CV format later?
Yes. As often as you like, with no extra charge.
All formats use the same CV information, so switching from Europass to Studio, for example, does not mean filling everything in again.
Choose whichever format suits the application.
What if my name is already taken?
We check several domain extensions, including .com, .cv, .me and .page, plus, in some countries, the local extension.
If your first choice is taken, you can try another extension or a variation of your name.
And if we cannot reliably confirm whether a domain is available, we tell you instead of guessing.
Can I download my CV as a PDF?
Yes.
Your CV can be turned into a clean PDF without the website controls, so you still have a normal file whenever an application form asks you to upload one.
You can also download it in Word format.
Do you track people who visit my CV?
No.
Your public CV does not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies.
Cookies used inside your private account are limited to things such as signing in and keeping forms secure.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your site does not disappear the moment a payment fails.
We retry the payment and let you know. If it remains unpaid, the site is eventually placed on a temporary holding page.
Your CV and account data are not deleted at that point, and the site can be restored once the payment is resolved.
Permanent deletion only happens later and after warnings.
Does the holding page say I have not paid?
No.
Visitors only see that the site is temporarily unavailable. We do not tell them why.
Can I cancel?
Yes.
You can turn off renewal from your account at any time. Your site stays online until the end of the period you have already paid for.
You can also export your data or delete your account.
Can people find my CV on Google?
Yes, as long as your CV is public.
Your site is built so search engines can easily understand who the page is about. Your name, job title and CV information are reflected in the page itself, and the site includes the technical basics search engines expect, such as a secure connection, mobile-friendly pages, page titles and a sitemap.
Your name is also your address
If someone searches for John Smith and your website is johnsmith.com, the search and the domain are telling Google the same thing.
Words in a domain are one of the signals search engines use to understand what a website is relevant to. Having your own name in both the domain and the content of the page gives Google another very clear signal that the site is about you.
That is one of the big advantages of having your CV on your own name, rather than buried inside a profile on somebody else’s website.
Linking to it from places such as LinkedIn or your email signature gives search engines even more context connecting that website with you.
Who actually charges my card?
Polar Software Inc. processes the payment and is the seller of record, so their name appears on your bank statement and they handle refunds.
DAC WEB SERVICES SRL runs the service.
