Terms, privacy and cookies

These terms cover the service run by DAC WEB SERVICES SRL (IDNO 1025600014447), str. Alecu Russo, 24, 130, MD-2044, mun. Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, "we". By buying a site you agree to them.

1. What you're buying

A domain name pointed at a personal CV page we host and you edit, for one year at a time.

2. The domain is registered in our name

We register the domain as its legal owner, not you. You have the exclusive right to use it for as long as your subscription is paid, and we will not point it anywhere else while it is yours. But the registrant on record is us.

This is how we can set a domain up for you in one step without you dealing with a registrar. It also means: we do not say you own your domain, because you don't. If that matters to you, ask us to transfer it out. See clause 4.

3. How your order is set up

Paying starts the purchase. Just before we buy the domain we check that it is still free and that its price has not risen above what you paid; if either check fails, nothing is registered and you are refunded in full. Usually your site is live within minutes.

We may refuse an order, for example if we believe it is intended to impersonate somebody.

4. Leaving, and what happens to the domain

• You can stop renewing at any time from your account. Your site stays online until the end of the year you've paid for.
• By default an unrenewed domain simply lapses. We stop paying for it and it becomes available to anyone.
• You can have it transferred to you instead. Write to us before it lapses; a transfer costs 99.00 EUR, invoiced separately. Once it is paid we unlock the domain and give you its transfer code. ICANN rules prevent a transfer in the first 60 days after registration.
• If you stop paying without cancelling, we email you, keep your site up for a grace period, then take it offline, then let the domain lapse. Every step is reversible by paying, until the last one.

5. Payment

Payments are taken by Polar Software Inc., who are the seller of record for your purchase and whose name appears on your statement. The price is what your address costs us to renew, plus our fee, and never less than our minimum. The price you are shown at checkout is the price for that year. At renewal it stays the same unless what your address costs us to renew has risen by at least 1.00 EUR; then it rises by that amount, and we tell you by email at least 30 days before the charge. It never rises without that notice, and it is never raised for any other reason.

Refunds: in full if we refuse your order or cannot deliver the domain. Within 14 days of paying, on request, less what the domain cost us, which the registry does not refund. After that we do not refund a year in progress: the domain has been bought and paid for on your behalf.

6. Your content

Your CV is yours. You give us only what we need to publish it: to store it and serve it at your domain. You can export it or delete it at any time from your account.

You agree not to publish content that:

• impersonates somebody else;
• infringes a trademark or another person's rights;
• is unlawful, or used to deceive people.

We do not verify that you are who you say you are. We are a domain and hosting provider, not an identity authority. The same position every registrar takes.

7. Complaints and removal

Anyone can report a site to us at https://flawless.cv/abuse. We investigate, and we may suspend a site while we do. Because the domain is registered in our name, a legal complaint about it lands on us, so we take them seriously and act quickly.

You indemnify us against claims arising from what you publish, or from the domain name you asked us to register.

8. Availability

We do not promise uninterrupted service and do not offer an uptime guarantee. We will maintain backups and act promptly on outages. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give you reasonable notice and offer to transfer your domain to you.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will email you before it applies, and you may cancel.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Moldova. If you bought as a consumer in the EU, this does not remove protections you have under the law of the country you live in.

The point of this service is to publish your data

You are paying us to put your name, your face and your career history on a public website at your own domain. That is not a side effect. It is the product. Everything you put in your CV is visible to anyone who visits it, and to search engines.

You choose what goes in. If you would rather not publish something, don't put it in.

Date of birth, nationality and your photo

The Europass format asks for a date of birth, a nationality and a driving licence, because that is what a Europass CV contains. If you choose that format and fill those fields in, they are published on your CV like everything else.

They are optional. Leaving them blank produces a valid CV. If you switch to a format that does not carry them, they stop being published immediately. We keep what you typed so that switching back does not lose your work, and you can clear the fields yourself at any time, or delete your account to remove everything.

What we hold

• Your CV, whatever you type into the editor, and the photo you upload. That includes contact details, and, if you use the Europass format, date of birth and nationality. Published, by design.
• Your email address, to sign you in, to tell you when your renewal is due, and to reach you about your account. Nothing else. We do not send marketing.
• Your payment history, what you paid, when, and for which domain. We never see or store card details; those stay with Polar Software Inc..
• Sign-in links, stored hashed, never in plain text, and deleted shortly after they expire. We keep the IP address that requested one so we can investigate abuse; it is deleted with the link.

What we don't do

• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising. Your public CV page loads no third-party code at all.
• No cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. We only use the technical cookies the site needs to work, and visitors to your CV get none at all. The cookies section lists each one.
• We do not sell or share your data, and we do not build a profile of you.

Where it lives

Our servers are in the European Union. We are a Moldovan company, so some of our staff access that data from outside the EU. Our processors are our hosting provider, our DNS provider, our domain registrar, our email provider and Polar Software Inc..

How long we keep it

• Your CV and photo: while you are a customer. If your subscription lapses we erase them after a short recovery window; if you delete your account we erase them at once.
• An unfinished order: if you reach the payment page but do not pay, the order, with your name and email address, is deleted after 3 days.
• Your payment records: retained with your name, email address and any notes about you removed, what is left is the amount, the currency, the date and the address it paid for. Accounting and tax law require us to be able to explain payments that happened; they do not require us to remember who you are.
• Backups: a nightly copy is kept for a short period, so an erasure can take up to that long to disappear from every copy. Restoring an old backup is only ever done to recover from a failure, never to bring back data somebody asked us to delete.

Your rights

You can see and download everything we hold from your account, at any time, without asking us. That is the "Download everything we hold" button. You can correct anything by editing your CV, and erase everything by deleting your account.

If you would rather ask a person, or want to object to how we process something, email hello@flawless.cv. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority in the country you live in.

Someone else's data

If a CV published here is about you and you did not put it there, tell us at https://flawless.cv/abuse and we will act.

• Reading a CV: no cookies at all. Someone visiting a customer’s site gets nothing from us: no session, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
• On flawless.cv and while you are signed in: two technical cookies. A session cookie, which remembers your language and keeps you signed in while you edit, and a security token that stops other websites from submitting forms in your name. Both expire after two hours without activity.
• Signing in also sets a cookie that keeps you signed in on your own site until you sign out.
• Private CVs: once the right PIN is entered, a cookie remembers it for 30 days, so the visitor does not have to type it again. It works only on that one site.
• No cookie banner, because every one of these is needed for the site to work. None of them tracks you, and none is shared with anyone.
